Mark González was the protagonist in the duel of Liverpool legends that was played this Saturday against a packed Anfield.
In a charity duel, the former Chilean national team scored the final 2-0 victory for the “Reds” over Scottish Celtic FC.
The opening of the scoring was the work of club legend Steven Gerrard, who scored the opener on 38 minutes from a penalty kick.
González, who defended the “Reds” during the 2006-2007 campaign, broke it with a great goal that he scored in the second half.
The former player received a through ball down the left flank, entering the area and leaving the rival defender behind. With a right hand, “Chico Mark” finished off at the near post before the astonished gaze of the Scots goalkeeper.
It should be remembered that the Chilean also excelled in the club’s matches against Manchester United, scoring three times in the two games that took place in September last year.
