The weekend tickets for the Dutch Grand Prix of 2022 are sold out. Tickets are only available for the free practice sessions on Friday. The organization behind the race at Zandvoort announced this on Friday.
The organization confirms that about 400,000 people wanted to order one or more tickets for the race weekend on September 2, 3 and 4, 2022. A maximum of six tickets could be requested per person.
Because the circuit can ‘only’ accommodate 105,000 fans per day, a draw has yet to take place. In the week of December 6, it will be announced who the lucky ones are and can actually attend the qualifying and race.
“I think Zandvoort has become one of the most attractive Grand Prixs on the calendar and we have therefore been asked several times for 2022,” confirms sporting director Jan Lammers.
The organization emphasizes that all applicants who arrived before the deadline have an equal chance of being allocated their tickets. Regardless of the date and time of their application.
A significant portion of the tickets for the 2022 race had already been given to enthusiasts who were unable to attend this year due to the corona restrictions. Another part was purchased two years ago by enthusiasts who had purchased tickets for three years in the run-up to the first (cancelled) edition.
