Marrero Cruz will attend the meeting of the Eurasian Council in Sochi

Manuel Marrero, Prime Minister of Cuba, will attend the Meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, to be held next June in the city of Sochi, Russia.

Speaking by videoconference this Thursday at the meeting of the Eurasian Supreme Economic Council, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel confirmed the face-to-face participation of a high-level delegation from his country in the event and in its collateral activities.

The also First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba expressed his confidence that the attendance of the representation, headed by Marrero, will be fruitful and profitable for the exchange of experiences with all the participating States, and that new beneficial projects may arise for all. .

Díaz-Canel reaffirmed that for Cuba the expansion of ties with the States of the Eurasian Economic Union (Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia) is a priority.

Composed of the Heads of Government of the Member States of the Union, the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council is the body that ensures the implementation and control of the implementation of the Treaty of that economic entity, international treaties within the organization and the decisions of the Council Supreme.

Cuba participated for the first time in this Council on February 5, 2021, after it was granted its status as an Observer State before the EAEU, in December 2020.
