Marseille snatch 2nd place ahead of Monaco, Metz in Ligue 2 and Saint-Etienne in the play-off

The 38e and last day of Ligue 1 delivered its verdict. Large winner of Strasbourg (4-0) at the Vélodrome, Olympique de Marseille took advantage of the draw conceded in extremis by Monaco in Lens (2-2) to snatch 2nd place and a direct ticket for the Champions League. ASM must be content with 3rd place and the preliminary rounds of C1 this summer.

Thanks to its draw in Lille (2-2), Rennes takes the 4e place and qualification in the Europa League. Nice, stunning winner in Reims (3-2), finishes in 5e place, synonymous with Europa League Conference. At the bottom of the table, Metz, atomized by PSG (0-5), finishes 19e and will accompany Bordeaux in Ligue 2. Saint-Etienne can say thank you to Romain Hamouma who equalized in Nantes (1-1) to allow the Greens to snatch the 18e square. They will play their survival in Ligue 1 during a play-off against AJ Auxerre (first leg on May 26, return match on May 29).
