Marvel can use these superheroes again soon!

In recent years, characters like Daredevil, The Punisher, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist and Luke Cage have been the Marvel faces of Netflix. Between October 2018 and February 2019 it became clear that the series in the DefendersVerse had all been canceled.

The contract with Netflix stated that characters could not be used by Marvel until two years after the last release. In the coming months, the rights of the many characters will return to Marvel Studios and that means that they can be used in the cinema films and Disney + series within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Iron Fist en Luke Cage
First, the rights of Iron Fist and Luke Cage will return to Marvel. The characters were played in the Netflix series by Finn Jones and Mike Colter. Shows around these figures were discontinued in October 2018, meaning the rights will return to Marvel next month.

Chances are Marvel Studios will take it easy with reintroducing these “Marvel Street-Level Heroes”. Fans still hope that the Netflix actors will return to the roles. The disadvantage is that Netflix’s Marvel series are firmly R-rated.
