Marco Rubio, senator from Florida County in the United States, pointed to Nicolás Maduro and Diosdado Cabello for their overweight in contrast to the famine that exists in the Venezuelan population.
"I do not understand how in a country where people are dying of hunger, Nicolás Maduro and Diosdado Cabello can weigh so much, they seem like refrigerators, it sounds funny but it is reality," the senator said during an interview.
He indicated that, although his accusation might sound funny, he seriously questioned where the money was taken by the ruling party leaders to maintain their weight in a country with flaws in the food system for citizens.
"Where does all this money come from? Seriously, the disproportion between the thousands of people who die of hunger and those who suffer from overweight and possible heart conditions is alarming," said Rubio.
