MediaTek Pentonic 2000 – the first 7nm processor for TVs that will be able to decode 8K at 120Hz: – Hi-Tech Lifestyle

MediaTek is also lagging behind in the premium segment, and if just a few days ago we were talking about the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 mobile processor, one that brought many industry premieres, in the following we will detail another top processor, one for TVs this time – MediaTek Pentonic 2000.

This processor is one for top TVs, MediaTek Pentonic 2000 being the first 7nm processor for this market segment capable of rendering 8K resolutions at a maximum of 120Hz. Interestingly, MediaTek Pentonic 2000 will be able to upgrade to 8K at lower resolutions via proprietary AI technology.

The new MediaTek processor is also the first in the world to benefit from support for V.2C (Versatile Video Coding) H.266 content, and in the “other” chapter we find support for UFS 3.1, Wi-Fi 6E and 5G modems.

Theoretically, this MediaTek Pentonic 2000 raises our expectations for future premium TVs, some that in the first phase we will not really afford, “earthlings”.
