Meet Josi and Meier | Sports at home/abroad

In the 23rd minute, Josi made it 3-0 with a precise long-range shot on the power play and thus definitely set the course for victory. The Bern defender’s second goal of the season was Nashville’s third goal in just under three minutes. The Predators, who didn’t start the season particularly well, with Nino Niederreiter not having a scorer point, then brought the second win from the last nine games into the dry without any major problems.

Meiers Sharks lose again

Timo Meier, on the other hand, suffered another defeat with the San Jose Sharks, the tenth in the 13th game of the season. The Appenzeller striker and his team lost the home game against the Florida Panthers 3:4 after a penalty shoot-out. Meier scored the important 1:2 goal with his fourth goal of the season at the beginning of the final third in the power play, but his attempt in the penalty shoot-out was unsuccessful. Like Josi, Meier also collected six scorer points in the last four games.

Broke Fiala’s scorestreak

With 13 points from as many games, Kevin Fiala continues to be the most productive Swiss player this season. The striker from Eastern Switzerland, who works for the Los Angeles Kings, went away empty-handed after scoring five games in a row. Fiala lost the Swiss duel with Philipp Kuraschew and the Chicago Blackhawks 1:2.

Nico Hischier had an assist credited for the winning goal in the New Jersey Devils’ 4-3 win in Edmonton. The guests turned a 1:3 deficit in the final third. Pius Suter also celebrated a 3-1 win with the Detroit Red Wings at home against the Washington Capitals. Janis Moser’s Arizona Coyotes lost 7-2 at home to the Dallas Stars.
