Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati admitted that during Lebaran 2021 she did not have time to take a day off from work. This is done to settle government affairs with its partners.
Even Sri Mulyani and her staff had to meet until the early hours of the Takbiran night to finish the job. As for what Sri Mulyani and Ministry of Finance officials were doing, completing several bills and drafting the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget Bill (APBN) for the 2022 fiscal year.
“This will soon have a lot to do with us. So we don’t have time for the Eid holiday because we are preparing KEM PPKF in the DPR. We still have a BPK audit, we still have 2 bills that will be discussed and we will finish the APBN bill later,” said Sri Mulyani when virtual gathering with the media, Friday (14/5/2021).
The former Managing Director of the World Bank admitted that in the next 3 months, he and the Ministry of Finance officials will be busy discussing everything with partners such as the House of Representatives (DPR).
“So in the next 3 months, you will be bored with us,” he said.
However, he hopes that every activity of the Ministry of Finance can be informed to the public as a form of transparency.
“Because we will definitely appear in the media a lot. So don’t worry, there will be lots of media. But please leave good news, not always praising but it means for Indonesia to be better,” he said.
