Megasa gives its staff one more week of vacation due to energy prices

The Megasa company will not resume production next Sunday, January 2, as planned, and has decided to extend the vacations of its workers until at least January 10, according to the president of the works council, Carlos. Bascoy (UGT), in statements to Europa Press.

This stoppage is justified by the rise in energy prices and in this way the smelter located in Xuvia, in Narón (A Coruña), will complete up to three weeks without production, where its personnel are enjoying vacations.

The management of the company waits for the price of electricity to be reduced so that it can resume production and make the plant viable.
