Meghan and Harry will wait a few days before they reveal the name of the newborn, it was claimed.
Members of the royal family do not immediately announce the name of a new baby because they believe they need to be safe, according to royal commentator Victoria Arbiter.
The name should be shared with other members of the royal family before it is published, said Ms. Arbiter.
The royal commentator said at the beginning of this year with city and country: "The argument may be twofold.
"On the one hand, there is a desire to inform families before a public statement is made, and each new parent appreciates having some time to get to know his new arrival before the onslaught of announcements.
"The Royals, however, must also take the big responsibility of naming a new family member, and I assume they want to be one hundred percent sure before they announce the name and seal the baby's place in the story."
Prince William and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, announced the names of Prince George and Princess Charlotte two days after their birth.
But the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge waited four days before revealing the name of their third child, Prince Louis.
And the royal fans had to wait a month before the Queen announced the name of Prince Charles after his birth in 1948.
Meghan announced her pregnancy when she landed with Harry on the couple's Sydney Commonwealth tour on October 15.
In a post on Twitter, Kensington Palace said: "Your Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that the Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the spring of 2019.
"Her royal majesties have valued all the support they have received from people around the world since their May wedding and are pleased to share this happy message with the public."
The announcement came just five months after the couple's wedding at St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle.
The royal fans speculate highly about what name Meghan and Harry will choose for their baby.
Favorites among the bookmakers include Diana, Victoria, Albert, Arthur, Philip, Alice and Alexandra.
