After the defenders and the midfielders, it’s time for ideas to strengthen the attacking sector. Nicolas Paolorsi (RMC) and Florian Sabathier (WebGirondins) proposed names in C’est L’Heure de l’Apéro that could reinforce the Girondins’ attack.
A LESS PRIORITY SECTOR
If the positions of defensive midfielder and left side seem to be priorities for the Girondins. The Bordeaux offensive sector seems to be quite full with the presence of Jimmy Briand and Josh Maja. The two numbers 9 are under contracts until 2022 and 2023 respectively.
However, Jimmy Briand’s advanced age and a possible departure for Josh Maja may well change the game. Even if Bordeaux will have to put their hands in the pocket to attract in its ranks a successful attacker, the two journalists have breathed their ideas to strengthen.
THE IDEAS OF FLORIAN SABATHIER
Nikola Kalinic (32, AS Roma): On the shelves of the Girondins during the last mercatos. The Croatian striker has already crossed paths with Paulo Sousa at the Fiorentina from 2015 to 2017. Little used in Rome, the Italian club should not renew its loan. With 2 goals in 9 Serie A games, he still has an interesting side: € 6.80 million. Bordeaux could offer a dry loan to Atlético Madrid to revive it.
Andrea Petagna (24, SPAL): loaned by Napoli in favor of SPAL, Andrea Petagna is doing a good service in the 19th in Serie A. The Italian international (1 selection) has 11 goals in 24 league games. With his 1.90m, he could confirm his good season with a loan in Ligue 1.
Grégoire Defrel (28, Sassuolo): the French striker is little known in France. Trained in Parma, he has never left Italy since. In total, the native of Meudon (92) has 160 Serie A games for 41 goals. At the end of the contract in June, Defrel still has a good price (9.5M €). He could do good services to the Girondins.
THE IDEAS OF NICOLAS PAOLORSI
Ibrahim Sissoko (24, FC Niort): Ibrahim Sissoko has had an interesting season with the Chamois Niortais. After passing through Béziers and Lorient, he won the squad with Franck Passi. With 15 goals in 25 games, Nicolas Paolorsi sees him as “a sober striker, but sure of what he does and very effective”. This large size (1.90m) still has a relatively affordable coast for the Girondins (€ 1M).
Simon Banza (23, RC Lens): Passed by Béziers and Luxembourg, Simon Banza finally seems to find his marks in the North. This season, he has 6 goals for 4 assists with the Sang et Or. A large size with an affordable rib for the Girondins (650k €).
Adrian Grbic (23, Clermont Foot): the Austrian striker has had an excellent season in Ligue 2 with Clermont. Arrived free last summer, he placed in 2nd place in the scorer ranking. With 17 achievements, he is preceded by 3 lengths by Tino Kadewere. The Girondins should face strong competition on this file. This great striker (1.88m) has seen his rib climb this season, today he is valued at € 2m by Transfertmarkt.
Artem Dzyuba (31, Zenit Saint-Petersburg): End of contract next June with the Russian club. Artem Dzyuba is still performing well in Russia. This season, his goal counter has risen to 13 goals in 21 league games. Despite his age, the captain of the Russian team has a very nice coastline: € 13 million. Nicolas Paolorsi conceives however “salary level, it will be very complicated”.
In conclusion, the Girondins should not make the sector a priority in the short term. In view of the prices requested by the clubs and the club’s liquidity, we should not see any attackers arriving in Gironde this summer.
