Meta: Instagram adds ads even on profiles

After having extend the duration of his stories, the social network of the Meta group (Facebook) has announced new “creative tools” to allow brands to gain visibility on its app, available on iOS and Android. Instagram, which indicates that 90% of users follow at least one company on the platform, will welcome more advertising content. This will first be displayed in the form of a rather imposing block on the home page of the Explore tab, which allows you to discover a selection of content based on the user’s interests. . Previously, the ad only appeared after scrolling through posts.

As part of a test run by Instagram, the ad will also start appearing on profiles, where it has never appeared before. Ads will be inserted between publications when visiting a user profile. This will allow “eligible creators to earn additional revenue from ads displayed in their profile feed,” let the platform know. For the moment, it reserves this monetization system for a limited number of popular creators in the United States.
