The Meta Quest Gaming Showcase is over, and for VR gaming fans, there’s a lot to look forward to in the future. While more will be revealed during the Ubisoft Forward event, Assassin’s Creed Nexus made a brief appearance today and it’s been confirmed to be available later this year on Quest 3 and Quest 2 hardware. Other announcements during the Meta Showcase focused on a new look at Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord, with the new trailer showing how you’ll be able to wield and upgrade iconic Ghostbusters gear.
This trailer also had several Easter eggs related to the Ghostbusters universe hidden inside, so if you’re up for a scavenger hunt, there are a few nods to the past here that you can track down. Another highlight of the showcase was the reveal of a remake of The 7th Guest, as this new version updates the chilling 1993 classic and uses some interesting technology to create a modern mystery experience. PowerWash Simulator fans can soon get ready to blast some slime – but in VR – and Ghost Signal: A Stellaris Game is getting a free update that will give players more options when exploring the universe.
One of the big surprises was the reveal of Bulletstorm, as this VR version of the beloved, gritty first-person shooter is back and once again urging players to get creative with how they eliminate enemies on deadly alien. planet.
Other games that were featured included No More Rainbows, where you have to protect your hellish domain from creepy and cute invaders, Underdogs, a futuristic physics-based mech brawler, and Stranger Things VR, where you can strap on your glasses and embody Vecna, the embodiment of evil. Meta also added that all of the games shown during the showcase will be available to play within the next 12 months.
