Metal construction and precision engineering companies pay more money

Around 40,000 employees in metal construction and precision engineering companies in Baden-Württemberg will receive more money from December. The fees for trainees and dual students also rose by 3.6 percent, said IG Metall on Tuesday in Stuttgart. There was initially no information on this from the employer.

According to the information, the new collective wage agreement runs until the end of January 2023. The union had asked for 4.5 percent more money for twelve months. A new general collective bargaining agreement for training is intended to improve training and dual studies in the industry.

It’s about the metal trade. According to a union spokeswoman, it is mainly medium-sized companies that are affected. The collective bargaining runs independently of those in the metal and electrical industry, which affects considerably more employees, including in significantly larger companies.
