Metro boss believes fewer than 10,000 jobs at Real are at risk


Dusseldorf Metro boss Olaf Koch does not expect the sale of the Real supermarket chain to cut 10,000 jobs at the subsidiary. "In my personal assessment, the number now brought into play is too high," said Koch of the "Wirtschaftswoche". Koch emphasized that in the sales talks, the company "campaigned for contractual arrangements according to which the Real employees would continue to be employed by the retailers taking over".
