Michael Douglas joined the royal family of Hollywood while his proud father Kirk Douglas took a close look.

Michael was inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Tuesday after nearly 50 years in the industry with his own star. The moment was particularly highlighted by the presence of his 101-year-old father and legendary actor Kirk Douglas, who also has his own star on the Walk of Fame.

Michael, 74, thanked his father for attending his ceremony and became emotional while talking about him.

"It means so much to me Dad, that you're here today," he said. "Thank you for your advice, your inspiration, and I say it simply and with all my heart: I'm so proud to be your son."

The honor also included Michael's wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones, who was 18 years old and had posted some videos on Instagram before the big moment.

"We're in the car and somebody gets a Hollywood star on the Walk of Fame, and that's my husband, Michael Douglas," says the proud woman in the enchanting video, while Michael smiles softly and points to himself.

The 49-year-old actress also shared a sweet video of Kirk and Michael coming to the ceremony, with Kirk smiling broadly as Michael stood near his father.

The family has had a reason to celebrate lately. Apart from Kirk, who approached his 102nd birthday next month, Michael greeted his first grandchild last year when his eldest son Cameron had daughter Lua Izzy with his girlfriend Viviene Thibes. 39-year-old Cameron also attended his father's ceremony and posted a sweet video of his Instagram story, in which he wrote, "Congrats Dad!"

Lua Izzy's middle name is a homage to Kirk, who was born as Issur Danielovitch and later went from Izzy.
