It remains a constant disappointment that Michelle Yeoh is not there each Film and TV show, but at least she will be here: Deadline reports that the actress is in talks to continue her journey as Captain Emperor Georgiou for a stand-alone "Star Trek" series for CBS All Access. She played the character in the first season of "Star Trek Discovery" and is ready for the second round. Yeoh, most recently in "Crazy Rich Asians" and "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2", is being celebrated on both sides of the Pacific for her roles in films such as "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" and "Yes, Madam".

Deadline points out that the spin-off, although still focused in the early planning stages on a continuation of their Discovery Season 2 adventure in the Department 31 of Starfleet. The semi-secret and autonomous organization is part of the tradition of "Trek" since it was introduced in the 1990's in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine series.

The potential spin-off is not the only new "trek" project in the works, as it was announced this summer that Patrick Stewart will repeat his role as Captain Jean-Luc Picard in another CBS All Access series. Last month, the network announced that it is also developing an animation show called Star Trek: Lower Decks.

Star Trek Discovery returns with Yeoh on January 17th.
