Microsoft Cloud for Sustainability available June 1st

With its new cloud solution, Microsoft helps its customers to record and manage emissions in order to achieve their sustainability goals faster. The Microsoft Cloud for Sustainability is generally available from June 1st and not only helps companies to gain a precise overview of their own greenhouse gas emissions. You can also use it to analyze the emissions balance of your entire value chain. This is made possible, among other things, by the clever collection of emission data via the Internet of Things (IoT).

In order to overcome the global climate crisis, companies of all sizes and industries must operate more sustainably. In order for them to make the right decisions to achieve this goal, they need easily accessible, centralized information that takes into account both business, environmental and social criteria. The Microsoft Cloud for Sustainability therefore enables them to carry out comprehensive, integrated and automated analyzes with which companies can record their entire emissions and reduce them through targeted measures.

Comprehensive analytics: processing emissions data from IoT sensors

The Microsoft Cloud for Sustainability not only helps companies to gain a precise overview of their own emissions. You can also use it to analyze the emissions balance of your entire value chain.

The collection and linking of IoT data from device sensors, which are combined with powerful applications at the edge or in the cloud, provides the basis for a comprehensive control and analysis of greenhouse gas emissions. With the new Microsoft Sustainability Manager Organizations can more easily measure, document and reduce their environmental impact through increasingly automated data connections that provide them with actionable insights.

Common data format: Transparency for the entire value chain

The extensible Microsoft Cloud for Sustainability solution centralizes previously scattered data into a common data format. In this way, it offers companies an ever more comprehensive overview of the emissions that they cause through their entire business activities and their value chains. Microsoft Sustainability Manager will be available June 1st as a free trial or for purchase.

The associated partner solutions for the Microsoft Cloud for Sustainability already extend across a wide variety of industries: from transportation to real estate to manufacturing. More information, for example about the worldwide cooperation with partner and consulting companies such as ABB, Blue Yonder, Honeywell, ICONICS, Accenture, Avanade, Capgemini, EY and PwC, can be found in the blog post „Accelerate sustainability progress and business growth with Microsoft Cloud for Sustainability — starting June 1“ von Alysa Taylor, Corporate Vice President, Industry, Apps, and Data Marketing, und Elisabeth Brinton, Corporate Vice President, Sustainability.
