Microsoft – Streaming on Twitch made easy from an Xbox

Broadcasting a game on the video game streaming platform will become simple, like what the PlayStation consoles already offer.

The option is being tested for Xbox Insiders.

Disappeared in 2017, Twitch integration is back on the dashboard of Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S consoles. Participants in Microsoft’s Xbox Insider program have the opportunity to test a new feature. It aims to facilitate the broadcasting of games on the popular streaming platform, as is the case on competing Sony PlayStation consoles with the share button on their controllers.

To stream a game to your own Twitch channel from an Xbox console, all you need to do now is press the “Capture & Share” button and select the live streaming option once your Twitch account is logged into the console. Microsoft specifies that this feature only streams the game. Thus, viewers will see a pause screen if the user temporarily exits the game to navigate to the home screen or another app.

The comeback follows Microsoft’s 2020 abandonment of its own video game streaming service Mixer, which was expected to compete with Twitch and YouTube. At this time, the general public rollout date for Twitch integration with Xbox consoles is not yet known.
