The future of the Xbox console seems to be a disc-less one. The German website WinFuture has received pictures and details of the console, which could be officially announced in the next few days.
The name has already been discovered on the packaging. So we can be pretty sure it's the final name. As the artist suggests, the Xbox One S All Digital dispenses with discs for game downloads – the packaging itself calls for "disc-free gaming". The box also describes some details about the hardware specifications of the Xbox One S All Digital.
Since the console is a console that relies on downloads, not games discs, it should come as no surprise that the Xbox One S All Digital does not have a Blu-ray drive. As players become more and more accustomed to it, the titles are being offered for download in the game stores. To get started, the console is preinstalled Forza Horizon 3, Minecraft and Sea of thieves,
In terms of hardware, the packaging released by WinFuture shows that there is a 1TB hard drive. It remains to be seen if this is enough for hardcore gamers who want to load many great titles onto their consoles. With support for 4K Ultra HD video, this space can also be used by movies.
To our current knowledge, the Xbox One S All Digital seems to be only available in white, comes with a single controller, and could be introduced by Microsoft on April 16. The console is expected to launch in Europe on May 7, priced at € 229.99 (around $ 260).
