‘Some things have to change and nothing has changed’: Mikel Arteta delivers a damning verdict on Matteo Guendouzi after leaving him out of the squad for the win over Norwich
- Mikel Arteta has once again hit out at under-fire Arsenal star Matteo Guendouzi
- The young midfielder was left out of the squad entirely for the win over Norwich
- Guendouzi has been absent after clashing with Brighton striker Neal Maupay
- And Arsenal head coach Arteta still appears angered by his hot-headedness
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has once again lashed out at under-fire youngster Matteo Guendouzi.
The 21-year-old midfielder was left out of Arsenal’s 20-man squad for the third consecutive matchday on Wednesday, and had been forced to watch on from the sidelines as the north London side eased beyond Norwich.
His last appearance came in the defeat at Brighton on June 20, when a poor showing from Arsenal was further marred after the hot-headed starlet grabbed Neal Maupay around the neck when the game had ended.

The 21-year-old midfielder hasn’t featured since tempers boiled over after the loss to Brighton
Sportsmail revealed that the former Lorient prodigy taunted his opponents over his sizeable earnings in comparison to theirs as tempers flared on the south coast.
And Arteta has fired another warning shot at Guendouzi, urging him to make the necessary changes to avoid continuing to be frozen out of the first-team set-up.
When asked about his decision to leave the French international out entirely once more, Arteta replied: ‘It is the same reasons as last week.

Arteta has left Guendouzi entirely out of his last three matchday squads after the incident
Arteta has now disciplined Guendouzi on two separate occasions since replacing Unai Emery in the hot seat in December.
It was reported that the Arsenal coaching staff were irked by the player’s attitude and body language during the team’s warm-weather training camp in Dubai.
In fact, Guendouzi has started just four of the 13 games Arteta has overseen at the Emirates.
And after the latest unsavoury scenes unfolded, Arsenal have considered exploring including the midfielder as a makeweight in any transfer deals this summer.
