Minedu: Lima and Callao schools have not been included for the return to blendedness

José Carlos Vera, head of the General Directorate of Decentralized Management of the Minedu, announced that they have enabled a total of 2,100 educational institutions in urban areas to return to blendedness.

The official explained that Metropolitan Lima and Callao are not on the list due to epidemiological indicators, such as the number of infected, deaths, oxygen availability, among other aspects.

He also stressed that if the vaccination process against COVID-19 continues with the speed of now, next year it would be seeing a total return to the classrooms nationwide.

“Not yet in metropolitan Lima and Callao due to some epidemiological indicators and displacement, but already We have 10 regions where some institutions are authorized to return. If this is happening, in the second semester we must increase the number of institutions with this ability. Next year, as the president said, we could be in a total return to the presence with teachers and students from 12 to 17 years vaccinated. The process is progressive and we are going with the best expectations for them, ”he told Tv Peru.

José Carlos Vera reported that to date 75,000 rural teachers have already received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. The figure grows when teachers from urban areas are counted. Here the number rises to just over 260,000.

“Although (vaccination) is not a requirement for returning to classes, it is obviously a favorable condition that gives confidence and security to the educational community for a safer return,” said the specialist.
