Under the patronage of Dr. Khalid Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the League of Arab States, the 6th Arab Conference on Astronomy and Geophysics will begin on Monday at the institute's headquarters in Helwan.
The number of researches submitted 150 researches from Egypt and Arab and foreign countries, including "Algeria – Saudi Arabia – UAE – Malaysia – Russia – Iraq – India – America – Jordan – Brazil – Austria – Italy – Japan – Tunisia – Morocco.
The conference attends the presence of Dr. Khalid Abdul Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research Leaders and some Ambassadors of participating countries, former ministers, heads of universities, centers, bodies and research institutes.
During the conference, a number of agreements will be signed for joint scientific cooperation and exchange of experiences between the Institute and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, King Abdul Aziz University and Egypt General Meteorological Authority.
On the sidelines of the conference, workshops will be held on advanced modeling of earthquake risk, seismic seismic studies, meteorites and nozzles, and renewable energy in Africa.
