Ufa, April 17 – AIF-Ufa.
The prosecutor’s office of the Leninsky district of Ufa spoke in defense of the rights of a seriously ill child to receive medicament. This was reported by the press service of the republic’s supervisory authority. Since birth, the girl suffers from a rare kidney disease and has undergone a complicated kidney transplant operation. Seven-year-old child requires a daily intake of immunosuppressive drugs. However, the republic’s Ministry of Health refused to receive them free of charge. Officials said that these drugs are not on the list of vital and essential drugs. Parents of the baby were advised to seek help from charitable foundations.
Meanwhile, the law does not imply such a limitation of the list of medicines needed by patients suffering from rare diseases.
The prosecutor’s office appealed to the court with the requirements of providing the patient with the drugs. Kirov district court of Ufa satisfied them.
