Modern Warfare 2 beta participants complain about the same mechanics as 3 years ago

If you keep a close eye on the Call of Duty player community, you’ll notice suspiciously similar trends year after year. Gamers voice the same complaints, use the same arguments, and offer similar exit options. This happens literally every year, but in the case of the current Modern Warfare series, dissatisfaction is especially noticeable.

The first round of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 testing took place over the weekend and, surprisingly, social media is already full of complaints about literally the same features and mechanics that were after the Modern Warfare beta in 2019.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, released in 2019, has become the most popular installment in the history of the franchise. She attracted those who had abandoned the shooter for a long time, and also the release of the very popular battle royale Warzone took place with her. In addition, Infinity Ward has made significant progress in terms of graphics, animation and sound.

For people on the Modern Warfare side, 2019 was a reason to return to the series. However, hardcore fans considered it one of the worst parts. Now they are repeating the same words, criticizing the lack of a standard minimap, changes in the perk system, poor readability of the enemy at a distance, slowing down the pace of the game. However, not everything is so bad, judging by the reviews, at least the maps have become more thoughtful and predictable. There is less “trash” and advantageous positions.

Dead Silence is one of the passive perks that has been popular in past games, in MW2 it works the same way as in MW, which causes a lot of discontent among players who prefer an aggressive style. And given that the sound of footsteps also remained loud, fans are urging the developers to change the balance with all their might.

Unfortunately for longtime fans of the series, it’s obvious that Infinity Ward has no plans to make any concessions, as the main thing for them is to maintain a high number of active players. And, as the numbers show, many were not opposed to the changes to MW.

In addition, the system for selecting comrades and opponents by skill was also transferred to MW2, against which there were a lot of complaints, because skilled gamers encountered players of a similar level and could not arrange harvest among casuals.

Practice has shown that IW solutions are effective for key indicators, which means that it is not worth waiting for changes with patches or in future games of the studio. It remains only to accept the new reality and adapt.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 releases October 28 on PC and consoles of both generations.
