The acquisition of 50 Airbus A321 represents a contract of 5.5 billion euros, said the Elysee. The contract for the operation and maintenance of the Doha metro and Lusail tramway reaches three billion euros, said Guillaume Pepy, chairman of the board of the SNCF, and the purchase of the 12 Rafale will represent 1.1 billion euros. euros, according to the French presidency.

Qatar has also signed a letter of intent for the supply of 490 VBCI armored vehicles to France’s Nexter, a potential contract worth 1.5 billion euros, the Elysee said. Lastly, the Qatar authorities signed a contract to clean up the Al Karaana lagoons with the Suez group for around 100 million euros.
The two countries have also signed several strategic agreements, including a “declaration of intent on bilateral cooperation in the fight against terrorism, the financing of terrorism and radicalization”. By signing such agreements with France, Qatar is also trying to show that it is not isolated on the international scene while serious crisis pits him against some of his Arab neighbors .
