According to data from the General Department of Customs, in the first eight months of 2022, Vietnam exported over USD 35.6 billion to China, up 6.7 percent from the same period of last year.

Leading are phones and components with 8.9 billion USD, +11.3% year-on-year and representing 25.1% of the total, ahead of computers, electronic products and components with 7.6 billion USD, +15.9%, and 21.6% of the total. Product groups experiencing an increase in revenue compared to the same period last year include cameras, camcorders and components (+54.2%), aquatic products (+82.7%), animal feed and raw materials (+24.7%). China is also a major outlet for Vietnamese agricultural products, including aquatic products, fruits and vegetables, coffee, tea, rice, cassava, rubber products, etc. According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, China remains a promising market. Vietnam with its strong need to import goods, especially agricultural and aquatic products. In eight months of 2022, it represented 33.1% of national imports, with 81.75 billion USD.
