Mortgage assistance to support 100,000 families

The number of people who meet the requirements has decreased significantly due to inflation.

A total of 100,000 families in the Balearic Islands will benefit from the mortgage assistance agreed by the government and the banks. This was announced by the consumer association Consubal.

As previously reported, there should be guarantees for 20 percent of the mortgage when buying a main residence up to 270,000 euros so that people who can pay a mortgage but do not have the money for the down payment can afford a property.

But Consubal also warns that inflation has significantly reduced the number of people who qualify. According to the association, many people have to spend more than half of their income on the mortgage.
