The interpreter of the classic ‘La hamaca grande’ suffered a traffic accident on January 19, and although it was initially reported that he had no serious injuries, the truth is that it was later known that his state of health was critical.
The 82-year-old teacher had suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest, but was revived and stabilized. However, despite the fact that the doctors at the Clínica General del Norte did everything possible to save him, Pacheco did not resist and died.
“Yes, the teacher died at dawn after two cardiorespiratory arrests,” journalist Juan Carlos Díaz Martínez, very close to the minstrel, confirmed to El Universal.

The accident
Regarding the accident, it was learned that he was traveling, as usual, between his native San Jacinto and Barranquilla when everything happened. He was in a private car, accompanied by a relative of his who was driving, when one of the vehicle’s front tires burst. The driver tried to maneuver, but could not avoid being left on the side of the road.
Initially, he was transferred to the Calamar hospital, from where he was sent to the Jaller Clinic in Barranquilla to perform a CT scan, which revealed that Pacheco suffered a head injury, bruises, and three facial fractures.
Today, family, friends and followers say goodbye to the also well-known ‘Juglar de los Montes de María’, who will be remembered for great hits such as ‘La hamaca grande’, ‘El tropezón’, ‘El viejo Migue’, among others.
