Mulan is the worst received Disney remake in decades


Mulan is Disney’s worst received remake on IMDb. We see that the film is received quite a bit worse than the animated original.

An overview shows the difference between the scores of the animated films and their live-action remakes. The overview shows that Mulan the worst-received remake since 101 Dalmatians was released in 1996. Mulan has only a 5.4 on IMDb, where the animated film from 1998 scores a 7.6. A big difference of 2.2.

Other Disney remakes also do not always do well. If you look at Jon Favreau’s The Lion King, for example, you also see a significant difference. The remake received a 6.9 and the animated film an 8.5. The best-received remake is The Jungle Book (7.4), followed by Beauty and the Beast (7.1) and Aladdin (6.9).

Does that Mulan worst of all, even worse than Dumbo (6.3) and Lady and the Tramp (6.3) which went straight to Disney +.
