How did Jonathann Daval kill his wife Alexia, one evening in October 2017 in Gray-la-Ville (Haute-Saône)? Monday, June 17, a crucial reconstruction will try to lift the last "shadows" of this folder to multiple twists. One of his main issues will be whether Jonathann Daval, who now acknowledges the murder, will also acknowledge that he tried to burn Alexia's body in the woods where he had deposited it.
Alexia Daval's parents present
The reconstruction will begin around 5am in the former pavilion of the couple in Gray-la-Ville, a village of a thousand inhabitants, between Vesoul and Dijon. A morning schedule designed to reproduce the circumstances of the murder, committed at night in the house. Exceptionally, the civil parties – the parents of Alexia, her sister and her husband – will be present: "They expect a lot of this reconstruction" and want to "know the whole truth", according to one of their advice, Mr. Gilles -Jean Portejoie.
A transport to the wood of Esmoulins, a few kilometers away, should then take place: this is where, during the night of October 27 to 28, 2017, Jonathann dragged and concealed Alexia's body after having strangled her, as he recognized it.
The reenactment is expected to last "between five and seven o'clock" and end at midday, according to one of the defense lawyers, Randall Schwerdorffer, who expects an "emotionally charged" day.
The gestures of Jonathann Daval will be scrutinized by the investigators and the investigating judge who will assess their concordance with the forensic findings. He will then have to reproduce the conditions in which he has transported and deposited the body in the wood.
Charged with "murder on spouse" and detained in Dijon, the 30-year-old came back in March to Gray-la-Ville for observations in the pavilion, placed under seal for twenty months, just after a robbery unrelated to the 'case.
