Music and culinary delights around the Backhaus – Laichingen

The music association Sontheim and the Sonthheim local group of the Swabian Alb Association with the folk dance group invite you to the traditional Backhaushock in the center of Sonthheim next weekend, June 25th and 26th.

The festival will officially begin at 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 25, when the Musikverein Magolsheim, conducted by Sascha Kohl, will play the musical barrel tapping. The bakery and the supply tent are occupied from 5 p.m.

Afterwards, the Albdorf musicians from Pfronstetten, under the direction of Eberhard Faigle, will provide a good atmosphere and entertainment. Meanwhile, guests can refresh themselves in the bar tent with one of the many exotic cocktails or in the wheat beer pavilion with a freshly tapped wheat beer.

The festival will continue on Sunday, June 26th. This year, too, there will be a festival service, starting at 10 a.m. in the festival tent or on the festival site, depending on the weather. In addition to one of the organists on the keyboard, the Heroldstatt choir community will provide the musical accompaniment

For the morning pint and during lunchtime, the Trachtenkapelle Ennabeuren, conducted by Gerhard Rogg, will perform as usual on the stage at the Backhaus. This year, the festival community has invited the Upfingen Music Association with its conductor Sebastian Volk for the afternoon entertainment. The hosts themselves, the Musikverein Sontheim, under the direction of Volker Pflügner, will once again take over the finale this year.

The popular wood-fired bread can already be purchased from Friday from around 10 a.m. at the Sontheimer Backhaus. But even during the festival, things get hot in the bakery when crispy Kümmichplätzle and hearty onion and squat squares are baked in the wood-fired oven.

While the members of the Albverein and the folk dance group are getting hot in the bakery and in the kitchen container, the musicians of the Musikverein are also working up a sweat at the food stand.

In addition to red and curry sausages, French fries, steaks and meat loaf, the popular snack meat is also back on the menu.

As in the previous year, visitors will be served crispy suckling pig with potato and coleslaw on Sunday. In the small tent, where cocktails were served the night before, there will again be a selection of delicious cakes and tarts on Sunday.

For those with a sweet tooth, the Schönhofer family’s candy stand is ready again, and they will set up the popular bouncy castle again on Sunday. Mayor Michael Weber has taken over the patronage.

After a two-year break, the organizers are looking forward to being able to hold the Backhaushock again in the usual way and hope to welcome many guests from near and far to the festival weekend.
