At the beginning of July, the “Summa Cum Laude” music festival will take place again in Vienna after two years of a forced break due to corona. Part of the proceeds will be donated to Caritas Ukrainehilfe.

From July 1st to 5th, ensembles from Bulgaria, Germany, Israel and Italy will be performing at the “Summa Cum Laude International Youth Music Festival” in Vienna’s Musikverein, MuTh and other locations.

International youth choirs sing for Ukraine in Vienna

The topic of war cannot be avoided at the youth singing festival either, as the Shchedryk children’s choir from the now war-torn Ukraine took first place in its category last time. It was impossible to fly Shchedryk out of Ukraine, according to a broadcast. Instead, the participants will sing a song by the Ukrainian choir together at the “Gala Winner’s Concert” on July 5 in the Musikverein. Ten percent of the ticket proceeds from the final “Gala Winner’s Concert” in the Vienna Musikverein will go to Caritas Ukrainehilfe.
