MP Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Nadezhda Savchenko, who was in jail on suspicion of organizing a coup, was released, reports TASS.

Brovarsky city district court of the Kiev region decided to release from custody Savchenko and the head of the organization "Officer corps" Vladimir Ruban. On the night of April 16, the term of their custody expired. The day before the court decided not to extend the preventive measure.

“I showed how to fight for freedom. I wish everyone unfairly condemned freedom. I do not break the rules, I do not run away abroad, as the prosecutors have guaranteed. I do not run away from Ukraine, because I am a Hero of Ukraine, ”Savchenko after his release quotes the newspaper Novoye Vremya.

In December 2018, Savchenko complained of pressure from investigators of the Security Service of Ukraine and went on a dry hunger strike.

Savchenko was detained in mid-March 2018. She is charged with preparing a terrorist act in the center of Kiev and attempts against representatives of the Ukrainian government, including President Petro Poroshenko. As evidence, the SBU provided a video in which the deputy discusses a coup d'etat with the head of the Prisoners 'Liberation Center "Officers' Corps" Vladimir Ruban. Earlier, he was also accused of preparing an assassination attempt on Poroshenko and illegal possession of weapons.
