NASA unveils the first video of their crew in the SpaceX capsule of Elon Musk

Elon Musk has revealed that NASA astronauts have brought the controls of the SpaceX capsule, which they will pilot for the first time, to the International Space Station.

He tweeted NASA footage of two of his astronauts training in the Crew Dragon and putting on the distinctive Stromo trooper's SpaceX suits they'll wear.

It is expected that the first mission will start at the end of next year after a series of delays.

"Commercial crew astronauts, Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley, are fully familiar with working in SpaceX's Crew Dragon!" NASA tweeted, and Musk retweeted.

NASA recently announced that the first flight crewed by a SpaceX missile to the International Space Station (ISS) is scheduled to take place in June 2019.

It will be the first manned US launch of the Orbita Research Laboratory since the Space Shuttle program was discontinued in 2011, forcing US astronauts to take costly rides aboard the Russian Soyuz spacecraft.

Musk has previously admitted that reconciling looks and function is "incredibly difficult."

It has accents and lines that make it more stylish than current designs.

It also seems to be narrower than anything NASA has produced.

The suit will be worn by NASA astronauts for the commercial occupation program when SpaceX starts launching people to and from the International Space Station.

Last year, Musk announced that he had contacted Fernandez to design a space suit.

SpaceX will deploy its Falcon 9 rocket for launch with a Crew Dragon capsule mounted on it.

The capsule measures about 20 feet high and 12 feet in diameter while carrying up to 7 astronauts.

The Crew Dragon has an advanced emergency exit system (tested earlier this year) to quickly rescue astronauts should something go wrong, as they experience the same G-forces as a Disneyland ride.

HOW SPACEX IS INJURED IN SECURITY

SpaceX and NASA also conducted their first test on how to rescue injured astronauts who land at sea.

In the unlikely event of an astronaut emergency, SpaceX has equipped its rescue ship, GO Searcher, with a medical treatment facility and a heliport in the middle of the ship.

Recently, the company completed helicopter landings and patient loading samples on the ship and practiced the helicopter taking astronauts and flying to a nearby hospital.

The aircraft will also serve to transport doctors and paramedics to care for the astronauts. In this way, the SpaceX medical team can best assist the astronauts on the ship during the flight and bring them safely to a hospital.

Normally, Crew Dragon splashes off Florida's east coast.

GO Searcher is equipped with a crane to lift the capsule out of the water onto the main deck of the ship. NASA and SpaceX doctors will work together to evaluate the crew aboard the ship. From there, GO Searcher goes to Cape Canaveral, Florida, where SpaceX teams take the astronauts to a nearby airport and return them to Houston.

It also has an Environmental Control and Life Support System (ECLSS) that provides a comfortable and safe environment for the crew members.

The light blue space suit is worn by astronauts aboard the CST-100 Starliner.

It is designed to be comfortable while providing functionality. The helmet is attached to the suit itself, touchscreen-sensitive gloves and vents provide a pleasant cooling of the astronauts.

The 20-pound space suit is much lighter than other start-up and boarding suits, and its material allows water vapor to escape while leaving air inside.

SpaceX has been flying cargo capsules to the International Space Station for three years.

SpaceX decided to develop his suit for his own astronauts in-house.

This is in contrast to the approach of Boeing, who worked with space suit specialist David Clark Company.

The inspiration may have come from Jose Fernandez, the designer of costumes for Iron Man, Spider-Man, Batman and Captain America.

These CRS-2 Dragon missions use "propulsion landings" where the capsule lands on a landing pad with their SuperDraco engines instead of splashing in the sea.

This will give NASA faster access to the cargo returned from these spacecraft, and may also gain experience landing manned Dragon spacecraft.
