JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Deputy Chairperson of the Nasdem Party Ahmad Ali said his party would not be interested in joining the coalition planned to be formed by the National Awakening Party (PKB).
The Nasdem Party is not interested in joining if the coalition is formed with the aim of the interests and dominance of one party group, one of which requires PKB General Chair Muhaimin Iskandar as a presidential candidate (candidate).
“Now he (PKB) wants to (invite) a coalition. He wants to lead a coalition and then wants to be a presidential candidate. Of course Nasdem is not interested. So this is what I said earlier that we are not interested in such groups,” said Ali when contacted Kompas.comFriday (27/5/2022).
He said, if that was the case, then PKB was considered to want to form a coalition for itself.

In fact, Ali explained, a coalition was born from the various aspirations and thoughts of the political parties that were joined.
One example is the birth of a figure who is wanted by the community to lead the country and be nominated in the Presidential Election (Pilpres).
“Nasdem, we want a coalition to accommodate. Coalition is like a forum which later we sit together looking for the right person, the person the community wants, that is,” he explained.
Nasdem assesses that a coalition that has the main criteria for party leadership to become a presidential candidate seems to be concerned with personal ego.
In fact, political parties should put this aside for the sake of the people’s main interest.
“It’s just that sometimes we feel ambitious, egotistical, and then ignore things like that,” said Ali.
Ali explained that Nasdem thought that political parties were indeed a forum to be prepared to find national leaders.

However, this does not make it solely for group power.
“But it’s more about power for the benefit of the people as a whole. So for that Nasdem was never interested in discussing with groups who then put their interests first,” added Ali.
“So if we want to form a coalition, sit down together, we will put aside the interests of our own group,” he continued.
Previously reported, the Deputy Chairperson of the PKB, Jazilul Fawaid, revealed that it was possible for his party to form a coalition axis in the 2024 election.
As for the coalition, PKB wants to be the leader with PKB General Chair Muhaimin Iskandar being promoted as a presidential candidate (candidate).
“PKB wants to lead the axis, don’t go along,” said Jazilul when met at the Senayan Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Wednesday (25/5/2022).
He gave an example, PKB also has the potential to form coalitions with central political parties.
He gave an example, for example, Nasdem and PKB formed a coalition.
“It’s very possible, it’s very possible because PKB, the middle party, means that there are still other middle parties, for example Nasdem agrees to go, so,” said Jazilul.
