More about Kawhi

This match must have sounded good to Danny Ainge as well. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Celtics submitted an offer to Leonard before the close of trading in February. It should come as no surprise to hear that the Spurs not only rejected the offer of the Celtics, but also made no counter offer. They want Leonard in San Antonio.

The Boston Celtics made a bid for San Antonio before the deadline in February, but the Spurs declined – and made no counter-proposal, sources in League sources said. San Antonio was unwilling to discuss business for Leonard in February. So far this spring, the Spurs are resistant to trade.

It was a season of frustration for Leonard and the Spurs, with cracks resulting from a quad injury that left their star at rest for all but nine games. During the season, a report came out that Leonard decided to suspend games despite medically cleaned . Leonard himself did not feel well and eventually left the team to rehabilitate separately. The Spurs were eventually eliminated by the Warriors in the first round of the playoffs.

It's no surprise that the Celtics are trying to get ahead and get involved in the Leonard contests. With everything that's happening in San Antonio and all the drama that's going on there, it would make sense for teams to call Leonard and make an offer. They could swing and miss the offer, but it never hurts to ask.

There is still the possibility that a Leonard Celtics mating will take place in the future, but that will not happen in the foreseeable future. The Spurs and Leonard reportedly began the healing process as they seek to improve the relationship between the two sides.
