Breast cancer is a public health problem and is the leading cause of cancer incidence and mortality in adult women in Latin America and worldwide (1). According to data from the World Health Organization (WHO), each year there are 1.38 million new cases and 458,000 deaths from breast cancer (2) Breast cancer is the most common worldwide and its incidence has increased due to increased life expectancy and changes in lifestyles.
