New cocktail trio: Wilfred, Wesley and Andy go for summer hit | Stars

No doubt inspired by the success of Mart Hoogkamer, who sang about swimming in a well-known rum drink two years ago, it is Veronica Offsidetrio, together with their producer Ferdi Bolland, delved further into the drinks cabinet. They come up with a song in which a red-orange aperitif is central.

The accompanying clip – to be seen in Thursday evening Veronica Inside – was recorded last weekend in Utrecht. That caused a lot of cheer on the canals and the adjacent terraces when Captain Wesley came by and showed his friends his ‘stadsie’.

“Earlier I made a successful football song album with Wilfred and Johan Derksen,” says Ferdi. “I kept in touch with Wilfred. I came up with the idea for this song a year ago and have now developed it further. Wesley initially had to think about his cooperation. But he likes to sing and finally said yes. Making music together is such a pleasant activity.”

Will it be a hit? Andy: “We’ll see. But recording the record and the video was already a hit.”
