At the initiative of the teaching staff, the Sahligut primary school took part in a competition to promote natural play in urban districts at the beginning of 2021 and was awarded the funding. The resulting project is co-financed by the Roger Federer Foundation, naturama, RADIX Swiss Health Foundation and the ZHAW as well as private donations.

It all started with a survey of the students and the teachers and supervisors: Balancing, moving, teaching outside, experimenting, observing, hiding and much more is important to them during the breaks and when playing in the afternoon. Some things are now being implemented on the pitch.

Various municipal authorities, the cooperation of the children’s construction site and everyone involved make it possible for the pupils of the primary school in Sahligut to get down to work: They paint the wood, shovel the cement, they dig and sow, they build nesting aids, and water a willow igloo every day. The project will continue next school year.
