NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Lifeway Christian Resources, the world’s largest provider of Spanish-language Bibles, publishes its first women’s devotional Bible with B&H Spanish.
The new Christ-Centered Bible contains 365 devotionals written by 25 Hispanic women, representing a dozen countries in Latin America.
“After two years of planning and hard work, we are pleased to see the fruits in this devotional Bible for women,” said Giancarlo Montemayor, editorial director of B&H Español. “The publication of this Bible affirms once again Lifeway’s commitment to equipping the church around the world with biblical truth.”
Montemayor observed that the goal of the devotional Bible is to point the reader to Christ. “We want to help the reader understand that the gospel message can be found throughout all of Scripture, and these ladies have done a fantastic job of accomplishing that,” she commented.
Edited by distinguished authors Catherine Scheraldi and Patricia Namnún, Centered in Christ positions B&H Español and Lifeway as a publishing house that honors the voices of the Church around the world.
“The Bible is the story of how a person is redeemed through the life and work of Jesus,” said Scheraldi, author and physician by profession in the Dominican Republic. “In this Bible, the reader will not only find Christ in familiar passages, but also in those places where it is not obvious at first glance.”
Scheraldi is co-author of Sexual Revolution and Women’s Ministry, also published by B&H Español.
“Centered in Christ will keep the reader from misinterpreting Scripture by allowing the text to show how Christ shines there,” said Namnún, director of Hispanic initiatives for the Coalition for the Gospel. His books published by B&H Español include Completas en El, Luz en las teneblas, and Una fe viva.
Montemayor worked closely with Scheraldi and Namnún to identify respected and established voices throughout Latin America.
“Some of them are our own authors, like Aixa de López, Wendy Bello and Karla de Fernández,” Montemayor said. “But we also discovered new voices in the process, asking other sister ministries.”
Centered in Christ uses the Reina-Valera 1060 text and comes in two presentations in imitation leather and another in a hardcover edition. It also contains beautiful illustrations by Aixa de López, wide margins for taking notes, a special design for each devotional, and multiple reading plans.
“This Bible is designed for women who want to read their Bibles but may feel overwhelmed and joyless in their spiritual life,” Aixa said. “Our desire was to include illustrations that would emphasize the great narrative of Scripture, which focuses on God and what He has done in His Son.”
