Long-awaited GTI appearance in Polo
Volkswagen Japan added the “GTI” as a performance model to the new compact hatchback “Polo” that underwent minor changes in June 2022. It was released from November 21, 2022 through Volkswagen authorized dealers nationwide.
The engine used in the Polo GTI is the 2.0TSI engine. It produces a maximum output of 207ps (200ps for the predecessor model), a maximum torque of 32.6kg-m (same as the predecessor model) over a wide range of 1500-4500rpm, and boasts a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 6.5 seconds (European measurements).
In addition, the chassis is also specially set, and a low-down sports suspension that is 15mm (European measurement) lower than the normal model is adopted.

The exterior features a honeycomb-shaped front grille, along with side lights that connect the left and right headlights, and a red accent line running to the inside of the headlights.
The interior is based on black, red, gray and chrome with red accents everywhere, and you can feel the tradition of GTI.
The front seats are top sports seats made of fabric with a traditional checkered pattern.
Red stitching is applied everywhere on the seats and shift knob, and together with the GTI-specific multi-function steering wheel and dedicated display digital meter cluster, a sporty cockpit unique to the GTI is produced.
