Mecca | With the appearance of this month’s Dhul Hijjah month in Saudi Arabia, the influx of pilgrims for the holy Hajj has begun. The day of ‘Arafah (the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah), one of the holy days of Hajj, falls on Friday, July 8, and the Feast of Sacrifice falls on Saturday. Hajj pilgrims will leave Makkah at 7 pm for Mina, the city of tents, to perform the Hajj. This year’s Hajj ends on the 13th of Dul Hijjah
The Saudi Supreme Court has called on all believers across the country to view and provide information on the month of Dulhaj. This year, extensive arrangements were made to observe the birth of the month of Dhul-Hijjah on Wednesday evening in Hota Sudair, Riyadh Province. Leading astronomer Abdullah Khudairi led the observation of the new moon.
The observatory was established in Hota Sudair on King Khalid Road in 1436 AH. The observatory is located at an altitude of 930 m above sea level, away from industrial and environmental pollution areas and in rocky mountainous areas.
