News from Man Utd: Wayne Rooney fires angry Jose Mourinho message to Red Devils stars

Manchester United have made a stuttering start to the Premier League campaign with just five wins from ten games.

Mourinho has come under heavy pressure, and was expected to be fired regardless of the outcome before the Newcastle game earlier this month.

The Portuguese tactician survived, winning two wins against the Magpies and Everton in three games in October.

His problems with his players, especially Paul Pogba, are well documented.

But the legend of United Rooney is relentless that Mourinho is not wrong and his players need to do more to "respect" that the club is the most important.

"Obviously they are going through a difficult time, but Jose [Mourinho] is very experienced and I think some players need to be a little bit better, "said Rooney.

"I hope they can turn around, win some more games, keep the pressure on the table and be back where we want to see them all.

"In my experience, I've never heard or heard of a player who did not want to join the game because he failed with the manager.

"I do not think you as a player could do that, you have to respect the club and the fans, and also your teammates.

"I do not think any player, certainly at Manchester United, will not play for Jose, I'm sure they're all working hard behind the scenes to get results."

Former defender of the Red Devils, Jaap Stam, has expressed a desire to lead his old club if Mourinho is fired.

"I hope to work for an absolute top club someday," said Stam.

"It's no surprise that Manchester United is a dream club for me.

"That was the situation during my active career, and it still is."

United tackles Bournemouth in his next game (12:30 pm).
