Next hurdle for the Rhein-Main Baskets | News city

On Saturday (4:30 p.m.) the Basket Ladies from Ludwigsburg will compete in the Georg-Sehring-Halle in Langen. The week from October 30th reads like a final weekend of the best opponents of the 2nd Bundesliga for the Rhein-Main Baskets as the undefeated leaders of the table: Saturday (30.10.) In Langen against Ludwigsburg (4th place), Wednesday (3.11. 8 p.m.) in Bad Homburg (3rd place) and Saturday (November 6th) in Langen against Würzburg (2nd place). “It will be exciting”, is the brief comment from Captain Pia Dietrich.

The Ludwigsburg are in absolutely top form, last rolled over Schwabach with 81:54 and had a super start in the first quarter with 32:16. The guests play like the baskets without foreign reinforcements and with numerous young talents. So far they have played, sometimes like that. There are three wins against defeats in Munich and against Bamberg.

The Baskets have to do without their previous top scorer Paula Süssmann, and for the entire rest of the season. She injured her knee right at the beginning of the last game. The cruciate ligament rupture diagnosis is pretty much the worst. With this, the season is over for Paula Süssmann and her teammates and her coach wish her all the best with her further treatment.

Head coach Saymon Engler relies on his so far balanced team and on the experience of Svenja Greunke and Pia Dietrich.
