The ex-singer of Girls Aloud, Carl Davies, previously received a restraining order against the 32-year-old, and courts banned him to see her on social media, following a trial last year.
But after the former soldier followed her on Instagram, the CPS dropped a lawsuit against him, as there was no realistic chance of conviction and Cheryl's buddy was left behind fearfully.

"You are too scared to bring the dogs for a walk, because if you plant malignant seeds, you are simply imagining every possible outcome.
"This is a relationship that ended 10 years ago, I should be able to continue on an unhealthy relationship if I want, and I have not been able to do that."
Nicola spent 18 months with Davies before completing 2008.
The publication alleges that he later bombarded her with 3,000 messages – including threats to stab and burn her.

However, when he violated the order and followed the Love Machine singer on Instagram, she took the update to the CPS – which had planned a trial for the beginning of the year.
But in a March trial, they offered "no evidence" and ruled that the case was "trivial" as the abuse went online, meaning that Davies could not be charged – something for which she was later apologized.

The agency stated that they were "wrong" in offering no evidence in the case, and "they are convinced that there was a realistic chance of convicting Davies" for violating the order.
Nicola has since started working with Women's Aid to make sure that others do not end up in situations similar to her.
