Nikola Jokic repeats as NBA MVP

The center of the Denver Nuggets, Nikola Jokic, was named yesterday for the second time as the Most Valuable Player of the NBA and he became the second international player to win the award twice in a row.

The 27-year-old, originally from the city of Sombor, Serbia, he averaged 27.1 points, 13.8 rebounds and 7.9 assists to take the honor. Greek Giannis Antetokounmpo from Milwaukee won the award in 2019 and 2020.

International players led 1-2-3 this year in the MVP voting. Cameroonian Joel Embiid of Philadelphia, who led the league in points average, was second, and Antetokounmpo was third. Phoenix’s Devin Booker finished fourth.
