Nîmes can still believe it, Strasbourg is approaching the red zone

Decidedly, the race to maintain is full of rebound. While Nîmes could already be relegated to Ligue 2 in case of defeat, Pascal Plancque’s men have not abdicated.

Proud, the Nîmes won with authority against Metz. Lamine Fomba opened the scoring for Nîmes by picking up a low cross at the near post (61 ‘), then captain Renaud Ripart gave air to his family by converting a penalty conceded by Oukidja (67’). At the end of the match, Ferhat scored the third goal in Nîmes (89th). With this victory, the Crocs can still hope to maintain themselves: they come back to two points from the Nantes barrage (18th), and three from the first non-relegation Lorient (17th).

Strasbourg falls dangerously

Another crucial match, another result. The Strasbourg, 16th, received Montpellier. Thierry Laurey’s men came up against the attacking duo Laborde-Delort. The former Bordeaux, author of a double, notably scored a superb chisel returned by taking advantage of a ball badly returned by the Strasbourg defense (50th). Led 0-3, Racing Club de Strasbourg tried everything to come back, but goals from Ajorque (69th) and Zohi (90 + 5th) came too late. With this setback, Strasbourg is only one point ahead of the Nantes barrage.

In the other matches of the day, Brest lost in Nice (3-2) and remains concerned by the fight for maintenance, and Angers easily won against the Dijon red lantern (3-0).
