Nintendo Switch: Almost every other player has downloaded Fortnite on their console

A few weeks ago, Nintendo presented its results to its shareholders. The program obviously: the success of the Switch, the sales of his games on his console, etc. Nevertheless, a very particular information was able to hold the attention during this meeting and it is surprising to say the least. You will suspect it, this concerns the global phenomenon Fortnite.

1 in 2 players have downloaded Fortnite on their Nintendo Switch

No, you're not dreaming. Almost 50% of the owners of a Nintendo Switch console have, according to Nintendo figures, downloaded the game on the last console of Big N. A obviously very high figure but which shows especially the incredible success of the title with the players.

Moreover, we understand better why a few weeks ago, a Nintendo Switch pack with Fortnite colors was born! Evidence of course, that buyers are ready to put the hand to the wallet with the main purpose of playing the game Epic Games phenomenon on Switch. Also note that having a nice portable version of the title had a lot of help, unlike the Xbox and PS4 versions, which can only be played on a TV.

Nevertheless, remember that the game is free and that inevitably, this generates a lot of downloads. That said, Nintendo has made it clear that there are still many active players on the title. This shows us that this is not just an installation of the game (because some titles have this syndrome: we download them, we install them and hop, it's forgotten …). So it's a nice shot for Nintendo just like Epic Games to increase its number of players, especially as digital goods sales at Nintendo are at the highest historical level. There is therefore a bright future for the Switch as well as for dematerialized games and especially independent games where it seems that this hybrid console is a little eldorado now for its developers.
